Exploring Immersive Tech, Web3 & AI

Fantasium developed an Educational Programme for Saint Anthony's Canossian Secondary School to introduce students to the exciting world of immersive technologies, Web3, and AI. The objective of the workshop was to empower students to explore their creative potential and consider future career choices in these rapidly evolving fields.

The workshop began with an introduction session, where the students were welcomed and introduced to the program facilitators and experts.

During the next session, the focus was on providing a comprehensive understanding of the latest technologies. Participants were given a brief overview of immersive technologies such as Virtual Reality (VR), Augmented Reality (AR), Mixed Reality, and Projection Mapping. The concept of Web3 and the Metaverse was also explained, highlighting its potential as a shared virtual space for interactive activities.

The discussion then shifted to Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its applications in various fields. Students were introduced to the capabilities of AI, including data analysis, prediction-making, co-creation, and task automation. To provide further insights, a Professor of Medicine was invited to discuss the impact of AI on scientific advancements, ranging from autoimmunity to cancer research.

After the introductory sessions, the participants were split into three groups for hands-on activities and in-depth discussions with experts. Each group rotated through different rooms, each focusing on a specific aspect of the technologies.

In the VR Discovery Den, students had the opportunity to experience a short demo of VR and AR applications in different career fields such as collaborative design and prototype, education, and entertainment. A session expert shared a professional experience of improving design capabilities through the adoption of immersive technologies.

In the MetaVerse Mastery Lab, students learned about the concept of the Metaverse and its potential impact on various industries like education, business, and socializing. They were encouraged to brainstorm creative ideas for utilizing the Metaverse in these fields, and a group discussion facilitated the sharing and discussion of these ideas.

In the Artistic Adventure Arena, an overview of visual development and its role in creating visual concepts for various media was presented. Students engaged in a hands-on digital painting experience, followed by a discussion on the importance of visual development in fields such as film, video games, and illustration.

By providing hands-on experiences, expert insights, and opportunities for group discussions, the workshop allowed students to delve into the practical applications and market trends of these technologies. It emphasized the essential skills in demand and highlighted the potential impact and challenges in various industries.

Fantasium successfully organized a workshop at Saint Anthony's Canossian Secondary School that not only educated students about the latest technologies but also inspired them to think creatively about how these technologies can shape their future careers. The workshop provided a valuable platform for students to unlock their creative possibilities and make informed choices in the ever-evolving world of technology.
